Support for Exmissions

Ongoing School Process

The Weekday School seeks to prepare children for ongoing public and independent schools.  We offer a variety of resources to assist families as they explore ongoing school options.  During the year, the school sponsors evening events at which parents can learn about ongoing schools.

Some of the co-ed and single sex independent schools our children have transitioned to are:

  • Bank Street School for Children

  • The Cathedral School of St. John the Divine

  • Ethical Culture Fieldston School

  • The Riverdale Country School

  • The Dalton School

  • Trinity School

  • The School at Columbia

  • The Spence School (All Girls)

  • The Brearley School (All Girls)

  • The Chapin School (All Girls)

  • The Allen-Stevenson School (All Boys)

  • St. David’s School (All Boys)

  • The Browning School (All Boys)

  • Nightingale Bamford School (All Girls)

Process/How It Works
  • We have an open-door policy in our office in addition to meetings during the year about your child’s adjustment and growth.

  • After speaking with teachers, there will be a meeting with the Head of School to help/inform of future options.

  • Information and guidance on how to set up tours and meetings with future schools.

  • Can provide required documents and any additional information needed for the application process.

  • Seeing what school is the best fit for your child and accepting!

  • "Accepted to a Top Public School"

So happy we had enrolled our child at Weekday - so much time and care was put into his individualized growth. Our child was accepted to a top public kindergarten and was well prepared due to the support given to our whole family by the deeply caring faculty and staff.

  • "Tailored to meet the specific needs of my family"

The exmission process was tailored to meet the specific needs of my family. The admissions team visited various schools with me, made phone calls, and connected me with the best schools that would be a good fit for my child.

  • "The guidance we received was invaluable"

The exmissions process can be an overwhelming and stressful time for parents. The Head of School at Weekday took the time to sit with me and my husband on numerous  occasions to discuss the various options for our son, and helped us through the whole process. In the end, we made an informed decision that we were happy with. The guidance we received was invaluable.
