Established since 1930, The Weekday School is a progressive, play-based school on the Upper West Side of New York City, serving families with children ages two through five years old. Our diverse community fosters sharing, understanding, and respect while focusing on the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child. We celebrate each child’s individuality and are dedicated to teaching children to become confident learners, passionate explorers, and discerning risk-takers.
We are licensed by New York State Department of Health and are proud members of Independent Schools Admissions Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY) and The Parents League of New York
The Riverside Church Congregation voted during its meeting on Sunday September 28, 2025 to continue to pledge financial support to the Weekday School for a minimum of five years beginning July 2026 and to create a Weekday School Advisory Board which will establish marketing and fundraising initiatives.
